AFM provides the best way to deburr hydraulic parts for smooth passages.
Hydraulic manifolds have some extremely intricate and intertwined flow passages that in most cases are very difficult to reach. Unfortunately, a traditional deburr process does not reach all parts of the passage equally and will leave behind microscopic burrs. These burrs will end up breaking free during operation (especially under high pressures) resulting in contamination and premature failure.
The good news is, Extrude Hone AFM has the capabilities to reach every corner of a hydraulic manifold passage to not only improve surface finish but also target the desired radii. Along with the proper communication and planning prior to production, this can all be achieved while staying within the tolerance called out in the blueprint specifications.
